New Frontiers in Defence Innovation: AUKUS and Beyond
The UWA Defence and Security Institute invites you to participate in an invitation only Track 1.5 Policy Roundtable on Wednesday 24 August 2022 at UWA in Perth.
This roundtable event will be hosted by the UWA DSI. It includes a number of senior Defence and DFAT Officials as well as academic and think tank staff from around the country.
The roundtable will explore the theme:
New frontiers in defence innovation: AUKUS and beyond
In response to the need for the AUKUS Alliance and our close partnerships to adjust to, and innovate for, widening capability gaps and emerging technologies: 1) How can we enhance industry engagement and drive capability acquisition more robustly?; and 2) What sort of innovation and S&T ecosystem is best for Australia and specifically for defence, given our knowledge base, resources and scale?
An update on the AUKUS Alliance will be provided at the start of the day, providing context for particular opportunities, priorities and models/frameworks, before we move onto the broad innovation agenda for defence.
This private event will take place in the Banquet Hall located at The University Club of Western Australia. Please register as places are limited.
