Associate Professor Tim Inglis (Pathology) Health Department of Western Australia Translation Fellow, School of Medicine, UWA and Medical Microbiologist, PathWest Laboratory Medicine, WA.
Dr Inglis has medical degrees (BM, DM) from the University of Southampton, UK, and a PhD from the University of Western Australia.
He has 149 PubMed-listed peer-reviewed publications and has also published patents, chapters and books on clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. His peer-reviewed publications focus on field investigation of emerging infections including COVID-19, drug resistant sepsis, and neglected tropical infections with the common theme of clinical capability development.
Recent projects include (a) a Gates Foundation-funded project on rapid antimicrobial susceptibility testing, (b) a translational research project on deployment of FilmArray PCR method for blood culture identification in regional Western Australia, (c) a WA Health Department project on flow cytometry based AST, and (d) validation and field trials of a mobile coronavirus RT-PCR assay for outbreak response.
