Maritime and Advanced Technologies Collaboration Hub (MATCH) Info Session
Dear UWA defence and ocean/coastal research communities,
UWA Defence & Security Institute & UWA Oceans Institute are pleased to invite you to an information session and meet-and-greet with Michele Clement, Director of the Defence Science Centre. Michele will explain the State Government’s proposed Maritime and Advanced Technology Collaboration Hub (MATCH) and is also eager to learn more about defence-relevant maritime research at UWA.
This information session will provide an introduction to MATCH, the Maritime and Advanced Technologies Collaboration Hub, and will be followed by informal networking over morning tea.
Broadly speaking, MATCH is a proposed hybrid research centre, to be based at the Australian Marine Complex’s (AMC’s) Technology Precinct but with virtual connections to universities and industry. The focus of this research centre may be on the maritime domain, particularly for technologies in surveillance, hydrographic and surface and underwater autonomous systems.
The proposal is being coordinated by the Defence Science Centre which is the Western Australian contribution to the Australian Defence Science and Universities Network (ADSUN). This network supports the national Defence enterprise through collaboration with state university researchers, industry, the Defence Science and Technology Group, and Defence end-users.
